Grass Play and Father's Day

The first chance to run on the grass!

Even without being cut for two weeks everyone was excited to run around on it in their bare feet!

...and to finally get in the tramp and jump around.

That evening Tyler and I got to mow for the first time with the new mower.

...it was fun...of course McKay couldn't wait for his turn either.

A dream come true, all the boys outside playing catch together again.

 ...nice...

Today is Father's Day and it was great to have my family around me!

 I received some nice gifts

...and some special notes that I will treasure...

I think it was nearly as fun for everyone else to hear what others wrote as it was for me to read them...

...soft-hearted Ryan teared up a little amidst his funny phrases...

Tyler wrote a very thoughtful note that was very special...

 ...and parts were very funny...

Everybody smiled when hearing what Brady had to say. Brady was proud! We are having Mom and Dad Bacon over for dinner this afternoon and I look forward to speaking with Dad later.

Brady's 4th Birthday!

Our always happy boy Brady turned 4 today!

The trick candles created more smoke than usual. Bryson thought his hair was going to ignite so he was trying to protect it.

It was then on to gifts

Trucks and sand toys were the exciting items

...fun...

Then it was time for strawberry shortcake...made Brady happy.

The big gift he received was a new sandbox with a table and bench.

They couldn't wait to get their feet in the sand. It's amazing how sand attracts boys. Dane, one of our next door neighbor boys jumped in on the action. It was fun to celebrate Brady!

Memorial Day and First Fire Pit Use

Jana's Mom's side of the family (Schade, pronounced skaddy) is buried in Huntsville, UT on the peninsula of Pineview Reservoir...

So we went up there to hear stories and see old sites...

...and just to be together. Afterward, we went to the Mandarin to eat chinese food as a big group. It was deliciously fun.

On Tuesday the last part for our fire pit arrived and the plumber was able to install it, so we had our first use of the pit! (even though the landscapers did not have enough rock to cover the fire pit rings) We roasted hot dogs and...

...Jana went all out on s'more stuff and even some starburst for roasting.

It was fun to be together and to do some roasting into the night.

...and the s'mores were delicious! Now that they have filled the pit with lava rock, we've been able to use the pit all but one night since. It's a blast!
